Ambassador Raphaël Touze must have been proud to have been at the origin of one of the most beautiful stories of Mauritian craftsmanship.

His enthusiasm for the first model boats built by the pioneers in Mauritius did indeed give the commercial impetus that was lacking in this fledgling sector.
Thus was born Historic Marine in 1982, in Goodlands in the north of Mauritius, now run by Serge PIAT, son of its creator.
The 40 employees of this workshop are specialists in the manufacture of exceptional model boats.
Every detail is reproduced to perfection, to recreate in miniature the most famous sailing or motor boats of maritime history.

But how do you manage to reproduce boats identically, from the hull to the rigging of the ship?
The hand-built end-to-end process starts with a plan, photos, illustrations, and information about the history and culture of the country of origin.
Then, it is the search for perfection in detail and the quality of the work of motivated craft cabinetmakers that allows to obtain a faithful rendering for a top-of-the-range result.
In the end, the certificate of authenticity, including a serial and model number, guarantees the quality and accuracy of its replicas for life.

Ancient or modern, small or large, dozens of boats are on offer: historic ships, contemporary and classic sailing boats, liners, dugouts, motor boats, fiction boats.
Do you dream of having a reproduction of your boat in your living room? It is possible today.
In fact, Historic Marine has distinguished itself since 2007 by offering a range of tailor-made boats: MY BOAT REPLICA.
You will thus have a miniature copy of your own boat!
Thus, these model boats have made Historic Marine famous at the international level, by the quality of the woods and materials used, the quality of the finishes, and the respect of deadlines.
