The Thirsty Fox beer, 'F' for Fabien and 'Ox' for Oxenham, here is a promise of happiness with its fine fox dress!
After 7 years of reflection, Oxenham finally launched in 2019 its very first "craft beer" in Mauritius: The Thirsty Fox.
Design and construction of the brewery, installation of the brewing and fermentation tanks: in line with these ambitions, the Oxenham group has invested heavily in this new project.
Thus, five new beers of the brand can be found on the Mauritian market: the Lager, the Pale Ale, the Amber Ale, and the very last one: the Season Ale.
It is a refined beer, the result of efforts made in diversification and innovation, and the fruit of a long manufacturing process: eight weeks of brewing combined with quality malts.
It was indeed necessary to respond to a worldwide trend in favour of artisanal beer, corresponding to the constant demand for increasingly sophisticated products.
But what characterises the production of a craft beer?
a family or independent brewery,
production in small quantities,
6 or 7 very good quality products,
a lot of passion, creativity and personal investment.
The consultant hired, a master brewer with more than 25 years of experience, has won numerous international awards.
For this Thirsty Fox beer, he has concocted a blend of citrus fruit and yeast, wheat and corn, flavoured with banana and malt.
"Nou Pays. Nou Labiere". It is the slogan "Our country, our beer" in Creole, which best expresses the preference of Mauritians for their local beer.
Launched in 1963, Phoenix Beer is a Mauritian beer that was the first locally produced beer, by Phoenix Beverages Limited (PhoenixBev).
The phoenix, a mythical bird rising from its ashes, is the symbol of eternity, tinged with purple red on the first bottles of Phoenix Beer.
Since 2007, it has been rewarded internationally with several gold medals, notably for the Monde Selection competition in Brussels.
It has become the favourite beer of Mauritians because it has remained faithful to its origins, in line with their lifestyle.
Its pale yellow colour emanates the scents of malt, roasted and cereal, and you will appreciate this unique taste expressing the exotic flavours of Mauritius.
Phoenix beer is a sweet but fragrant lager, using barley and traditional brewing, which also appeals to beer lovers from all over the world.
It is also produced without preservatives, thanks to the quality of the ground water and the malts and hops used.
